FINAL FANTASY III is a remake of the Final Fantasy game that was released in 1997 and is now playable on smartphones. The opening mission features ex-soldier Cloud Strife teaming up with environmental activist group Avalanche.

The evil Shinra corporation is bleeding life-blooded planets called “mako”. And Avalanche launches a campaign to blow up the Mako reactor, but encounters a massive plot twist before another villain arrives.

FINAL FANTASY III combat system has remained largely the same as in the original version of the game. Combat gets an extra layer, including the so-called Limit Break attack, perfect for finishing off more dangerous foes, and the ability to summon demons.

Easy and medium difficulty settings are available. The third “classic” mode acts as an easy adjacency allowing characters to attack and defend automatically.

The original game’s Materia system, which allows you to attach various elemental traits to your equipment’s slots, is largely unchanged, providing an abundance of magical attacks and new special abilities.

Your main hero, Cloud, assembles a shifting horde of allies, many of whom join him in battle. They have complementary skills to the sword-wielding protagonist.

For example, Barret is a tank-like character armed with a machine gun. Tifa is a hand-to-hand combat specialist and Aerith is a wand-wielding mage.

In FINAL FANTASY III battles, you can only control one character at a time. However, you can switch between them, and you can also launch special attacks on characters you don’t directly control or instruct party members to use items.

Most of the smaller fights aren’t very exciting, but they are fun to play and watch. The boss, on the other hand, puts all systems to the test. You really need to try to follow your weaknesses and stumble upon the variables.
